Breezy Summer Pants

pants: Brandy Melville (similar) // tank: Loft // shoes: Gianni Bini // silver lavaliere Alpha Phi necklace: it was a custom order // black and silver ring: Plato’s Closet // silver ring: Forever 21 // sunglasses: American Eagle // nail color: “Fifth Avenue” by Essie // toe color: “Teeny Bikini” by Essie

I cannot get enough of the wide-leg flowy pant trend this summer. I promised myself that I’d try to stay away from “trendy” items – the crop tops and crochet bandeaus that are all the rage in PacSun and on Tumblr – but these pants are just classy enough that you can look very put together in them as long as you style them correctly.

I wanted to let the pants shine in this outfit, so I paired them simply with my periwinkle tank from Loft (they’re trying to get rid of all of them so I got it and another coral one for only $5 a piece!). I styled it with simple silver jewelry and a soft curl to my hair (which then proceeded to fall completely flat in the Florida summer heat. I should have known.)

One thing about these pants: although they are super comfortable (the elastic in the paper bag waist makes you feel like you’re wearing PJs) they are just a little bit long on me, and that’s unusual because I’m pretty tall (5’7″). I most definitely needed to wear a heel with them, and it ended up looking pretty cute with just the peep-toe part of the shoe peeking out from under the pant.

And of course, my go-to nail polish color “Fifth Avenue” went with the look perfectly. I love it when things work out like that.
